Got lots of work to do to this one and that will require ripping it completely down. The chasis was rivited together so they have to be drilled out. |
Bought me a new toy in the summer and haven't got to use it much - now is the time!

Anyhow, I will be painting this case so the first step is to clean that beige powder coat off:
Now, sandblasting it did work - and it worked very well - however, I made the rather serious mistake of doing this inside. Man, what a mess! I had sandblast sand everywhere and was cleaning it up for many weeks to come! Also, doing this with bare hands is not a good idea either. Learned the hard way at one point when I took a layer of skin off of the hand holding the panel - ow!
Once the worst of it is off the roughed-up panels are smoothed out with an orbital sander. Um, I believe I used a 240 grit paper.
