The receiver is a big brute - Yamaha's 2003 flagship - the RX-Z1:
Trying to work behind a stack of stereo equipment is to me a very unpleasant task. I twisted my back pretty bad once squeezing in there. I also learned long ago never to zip tie the cables together so there is always a huge spaghetti pile behind the wall unit. I decided that was enough of that and ordered a Middle Atlantic SRSR 19" sliding rail rack.
This thing is really slick. It pulls out from the wall unit and then rotates 45 degrees so you can work behind. To mount it to the wall unit, I used a large sheet of 1/4" plate steel to act as a washer and counterweight.
Each of the stereo components sits on a 19" shelf with a custom laser-cut bezel from Middle Atlantic. So with each of the components shelved seperately on the rack, I can completely clean up the cabling and still have everything accessible:
