The giant JVC iArt was a hell of a nice TV. For Xbox or any 4x3 picture it was ideal. However, as soon as any widescreen material (in particular the PC's high definition output) was played on it, suddenly it had a small image. Since I hardly watch regular TV anymore that meant I had black bars eating up a third of the screen most of the time.
Finally, I cracked and began looking at some of Panasonic's giant plasmas. However, when I saw Samsung's big 46" LCD HDTV I had to have it and brought it home.
Wow! It is about the same height as the big JVC (1/2" taller) but, man, is it wide! With a 1900x1080 native resolution the HTPC text is fully readable from the couch - and look ma - NO BARS!
