Here are some comparisions. I used the USA spec headlamp on low beam as the "control" setting. With the camera mounted on the tripod in an easily restored position, I set to f/5 in Aperture Priority. The camera returned a shutter speed of 0.125" at ISO 200. All other head-on shots were taken in Manual mode with these settings.

I also fired off a sample shot in Aperture Priority to see the auto-exposure difference from the USA headlamp to the HID-enhanced Euro. In the low beam setting, there was almost two full stops difference (four times the light intensity). In high beam, the difference is three stops (eight times). Now that is bright!
