Now that I have my outside dimensions, I can build a box using the cardboard pieces as a template. MDF was the chosen material since it is so easy to work with. The parts were fastened together with carpenter's glue and wood screws. |
A slot for the DVD drive was cut out with a jigsaw.
120mm blowholes cut into either end.
And a shelf installed to mount the optical drive.
For some reason as I was building this box, I felt compelled to put crack filler over all the screwheads and wood seams.
