So now that I have my form made, it is masked off with green painters' tape. I had discovered from earlier attempts that the resin will not stick to it. |
Fleece is tightly stretched around the taped form.
And it is completely soaked with fiberglass resin.
Once the resin dried, it was removed from the form and the inside reinforced with some glass matting.
While this is a solid (and lightweight) piece, it is still rough around the edges. The creases were sanded off and some bondo used to fill in the visible edge.
The edges are sanded nice and smooth and the swivel and mount are re-attached with pop rivits.
